As most local MAIS fans are aware, there is a healthy rivalry between Central Private School and Silliman that has existed for many years.  In Tuesday’s basketball games at Silliman, CPS won three of the four games, including the girls JV, the boys JV, and the boys Varsity games.

With the gym almost packed, the crowd got to see a strong showing by the girls jv and a nailbiter with the boys JV game.  In the boys varsity game, the Silliman Wildcats scored first and second, after which he Rebel-ution went on a 14-point run and then a 20-point lead—and there was no stopping the Rebel steamroller although Silliman is a solid team with good size, good guard play, and overall balance.

Strong offensive play by the Rebels was led by Taylor Fletcher on the inside and continued by the second five—the Kamikaze Kids—who substituted in and fired 3’s from everywhere.  Luke Fryoux stepped up to fill the gap left by regular starter Lance Wicker who was out sick.

In Monday’s game against Bowling Green, the Rebels won over the Buccaneers by a final score of 87-34 in a great defensive performance by the Rebels.
