Central could not pull it together last Thursday night as they fell to Capitol, 21-24.  Though the defense made a couple of impressive scoring plays, the Wildcats struggled with turnovers, losing their third game of the season.

CHS chalked up three touchdowns in the game, two of which were defensive scores in the first quarter.  Three minutes into the game, James Richardson snagged a 79 yard kick return for a touchdown.  Zach Hetrick ran a fumble return 25 yards for another score a few minutes later, and kicker Matthew Thibodeaux put up the extra points.  Quarterback Zach Edgens ran a short play into the end zone at the beginning of the fourth quarter for the final CHS touchdown.  Central made a few last minute score attempts near the end of the game, but nothing panned out for the Wildcats as the clock ran out.

#32 Trevor Sansone had a solid game, with 70 rushing yards on 7 attempts.  Austin Watts had a good game on defense and punting, with 5 tackles, 6 assists, and 4 punts for an average of 34 yards each.  #49 Joey Jarreau claimed Central’s only sack of the night on defense.

The Wildcats play their final game this Friday night at home against Live Oak.  With a win, Central will share the district title with either Zachary or Catholic.

Wear your Wildcat colors and come out Friday night for the final season game.  It is also Senior Night, so all of the football, band, and cheer seniors will be recognized at their final regular season game in Wildcat Stadium.
