Drewe Burns Given Courage and Commitment Award

    Drewe Burns, currently a senior at Redemptorist High School and a Central resident, was recently awarded the United States Marine Corp award for "Courage and Commitment."  The award was presented prior to the RHS vs Patterson football game that was televised nationally on ESPNU.  The game was played on the campus of Nicholls State University on Sept 10, 2010 where Drewe helped lead the Wolfpack defense and defeat Patterson 28 -13. He is the son of Julie and Warren Burns of Central.  Drewe is the grandson and Pat and Nettie Burns of Baton Rouge and Liz Gonzalez and the late Coach 'Chico' Gonzalez of Baton Rouge.
