Football Fridays Return; CHS Students to Broadcast Wildcat Games

When the CHS Wildcats take to the field this Friday hosting Dunham, CHS students will also occupy the press box to live video stream this year’s games on Facebook Live at the Central First Facebook Page. Dave Freneaux and Central Speaks have broadcast the games for years, and are now working to transition the broadcasts to Central High and its students, presenting a great opportunity for hands-on broadcasting, technical experience, and fundraising via sponsors.
Dave Freneaux and Blake Andrews will begin the season calling the games and will quickly begin transitioning those duties to CHS students. Dave Freneaux commented, “I hope that in just a few short weeks this will be a student-led and student-staffed effort. This can be the foundation for CHS to reach out and involve the Central community in many other areas of sports, the arts, and education. I look forward to retiring from the headset and camera and just being a Wildcat fan.”
A short distance across town, Central Private, 1-1 on the season, will be hosting Glenbrook. CP’s season kicked off on August 17th with a 49-14 win over CHEF, followed by a 28-0 loss to Cathedral last Friday.
