Local Fire Departments Respond to Greenwell Springs Road Fire
From the Central Fire Department
Central, East Side and District Six Fire Departments were alerted to an early morning house fire in the 20300 block of Greenwell Springs Road last Thursday morning. The Box Alarm was received shortly after 6:00 am and heavy smoke from the roof greeted first arriving CFD firefighters. Once firefighters confirmed all occupants were out of the structure, significant fire was discovered in the attic of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished and heat and smoke were vented, limiting damage to the home and its contents. The origin of the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.
The occupant stated shortly after arriving home from work, he smelled smoke and discovered the fire. There were no civilian or fire service injuries.
