CHS Bowling Teams Make Early Statement in Scrimmages
By Coach Godley
Before the high bowling season kicks off with jamborees all around Baton Rouge on Wednesday (the 13th), Central Boys defeated Catholic and the Girls soundly defeated St Joseph’s on Monday (1-11-16). After losing a total of three seniors from last year’s State Runner-Up teams, Central looks to continue the momentum into the 2015 Season behind a just as talented Wildcat lineup on both the Boys and Girls teams.
On the Boys’ side, they came out ahead 22-5 and 3013-2460 (Total Pins) over Catholic. Dylan Ringo (Junior) paced the talented Wildcats with a 551 (213). Johnathan Ryder (Senior/Captain) chipped in with a 213, Parker Aucoin (Junior) added a 203 and newest Wildcat Michael Williston (Freshman) rolled a 192. The Girls cruised just as easily to a 26-1 and 2509-1806 victory over St Joseph's. Brianna McCurley (Junior) led the way for the Wildcats with a 554 (197 and 190) and Sariah Short (Junior) was next highest on the team with a 440.
With about one week left until the bowling season officially begins and Central tries to repeat last year’s solid performances, the Wildcats will have one last tune-up and participate in Jamborees on Wednesday (1-13-16) at All Star Lanes (3:15PM). The Boys will be matched up with Broadmoor, St Michael’s and Denham Springs, while the Girls will bowl Denham Springs and St Michael’s.

Schedule correction from last week’s newspaper: Lee High’s girls team was removed from the schedule. The match against them on January 20 is cancelled. Instead the girls first match has been replaced with Woodlawn Girls on January 25 at All Star at 3:15 p.m.
