Christmas Giving Opportunity: Help Kenyan Orphans Attend School

By  |

Cornerstone Fellowship Church is reaching out beyond its borders to help those in need in Africa.  Bishop Robert Makona, who brought a revival service to Central in September, runs ministries that serve orphans and widows in Kenya.  The AIDS epidemic there has left many children not only with no parents, but with nowhere to go to provide them with food and education.  There are 1.9 MILLION orphans in Kenya, 60% of which lost their parents to AIDS.  With over 50% of the population living below the poverty line, resources are scarce to help these children.  Robert and his wife Jane started a program to help these orphans and get them off the streets.  They desperately need funding to keep their very needed school open.  Money is needed to pay teachers (schooling in Kenya is not entirely free as it is here in the States), buy supplies, and buy food and clothing.  For many children, this program is their only hope.  Cornerstone has answered the call to help support this very needed ministry, and is offering the people of Central the opportunity to join with them.  Anyone interested in helping Robert and Jane continue their good work for “the least, the last, and the lost” are asked to contact Cornerstone at 261-8795 or to visit the mission’s website ate www.wrsmworld.com.  What better way to remember the Real Reason for the Season?
