$142,000 Per Year FOR Central on November Ballot

By  |

On November 21, voters have the opportunity to vote YES on a proposition to position Central to receive an estimated $142,000 per year in Parish Revenue Sharing for each of the next ten years.
EBR Metro-Council Member Scott Wilson has sponsored the legislation which would add Central to the other three EBR cities, Baker, Zachary and Baton Rouge, in sharing a portion of the property taxes paid by the industrial companies in the Parish such as Exxon and Georgia Pacific.
Councilman Wilson emphasized that this is NOT a tax.  It is income FOR the City of Central.  Look for more details and the ballot information in Central Speaks over the next two weeks.  A huge positive turnout from Central voters will be a must if this ballot item is to pass Parish-wide.
