DEMCO Crews Wear Pink Hard Hats for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
From DEMCO
DEMCO crews and staff will be supporting the fight against breast cancer. In a show of support, all crew members have been issued pink hard hats and will proudly don these colors in support of breast cancer awareness for the month of October.
“This terrible disease has affected so many in our communities and our country,” said John Vranic, DEMCO CEO and General Manager. “DEMCO hopes to provide this support to make individuals aware of the precautionary measures necessary to help promote proper care and testing for women everywhere,” Vranic continued.
According to Cancer Treatment Centers of America 1 in every 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. The organization encourages all women to take measures for early detection.
The pink hard hats that DEMCO crew members will be wearing for Breast Cancer Awareness Month are just part of the safety precautions these men and women must adhere to in order to continue to provide power to over 105,000 homes and businesses in seven parishes as efficiently and as safely as possible.
DEMCO is a locally owned electric cooperative that serves members in Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Livingston, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, and West Feliciana Parishes and has done so for over 77 years.
