Monday night’s “Delivering More than Aces” home volleyball game was about more than a face-off against a skilled Zachary team.  All profits from the game tickets, t-shirts, concessions, and donations are going to the Smile Delivery Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides gifts for children facing life-threatening diseases and care packages for the parents of these children.  The Central High Volleyball Team has been “Delivering More than Aces” for several years now, and the team loves being able to help provide these gifts and care packages for the kids and their families.  Learn more about the Smile Delivery Foundation by visiting www.SmileDeliveryFoundation.org.
Monday night was even more exciting for the Wildcat varsity team, who pulled off an impressive win against the Broncos.  The first game in the best-of-five match ended in a 20-25 loss for Central, but they bounced back in a tense second game, trading points back and forth to take a 27-25 victory.  Another close game ended 25-23 in favor of the Wildcats, and they sealed their victory with a solid 25-11 fourth game win.
The upcoming schedule includes away games tonight at Belaire and Tuesday, October 13 at Woodlawn.  Both games begin at 5 p.m. for JV, followed by varsity.
