According to the victim, Adams approached the vehicle and began to make rude gestures to her and to shout obscenities at her. The victim stated that, at the time of the incident, she feared for her and her child’s safety. The accused was visited by a deputy and, after being advised of his rights, Adams admitted to giving the victim the middle finger and mouthing obscenities at her. On the evening of September 3, a Wal-Mart associate contacted EBRSO and stated he observed the accused, Kelly Griffin of Baton Rouge, putting several items into a shopping cart and passing all points of sale without payment. Griffin had been banned from Wal-Mart earlier this year, and he had signed a form stating he would not trespass on Wal-Mart property. Griffin also had a bench warrant for theft in Baker. Griffin was advised of his rights, at which point he stated he did pass all points of sale with the items. EBRSO was contacted by a Wal-Mart associate on September 17 when Robbie Baham of Baton Rouge was seen attempting to take merchandise from the store without paying. On the afternoon of September 11, Marrielle Thomas of Baton Rouge was arrested for Theft over $200, a felony. EBRSO was advised that, on September 6, Thomas, the accused, completed two unpaid debit transactions at the register with an unknown female. These transactions left the register short $937.19 after the two debits to the unknown female. The Wal-Mart manager contacted the accused on September 11 in reference to the September 6 incident. Thomas was led into an office and stated he thought the meeting was about “some debit cards he messed up.” The manager stated that Thomas had completed numerous similar transactions in the past without error. When Thomas was contacted by EBRSO and advised of his rights, he said he had been working there for six months and believed he had completed correctly the transactions in question. He was unable to state how he had issued the unknown female $937.19 in credit while only receiving $35 in cash. Thomas later stated he believed the female paid the remainder of the amount with a credit card. Thomas was advised that he was being charged with Felony Theft and booked into EBR Prison.

Sabrina Scott of Baton Rouge was charged with Theft of Goods and Entering and Remaining after Being Forbidden after a Wal-Mart associate witnessed Scott, the accused, concealing several items in her purse and attempting to leave the store without paying for those items, paying only for the items inside of her shopping cart. It was discovered that Scott had, in 2013, signed a form stating that she knew she was banned from all Wal-Mart properties. EBRSO was contacted. Kayla David of Baton Rouge was arrested on September 18 for Felony Possession of Schedule 2 Drugs, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Theft of Goods. EBRSO responded to Wal-Mart in reference to a theft. The Wal-Mart associate stated he witnessed David, the accused, switching tags on a bra and putting on new shoes from the store after entering barefoot. David also picked up drinks and a candy bar. She proceeded to the self-checkout area, where she purchased the bra on which she had switched the tags, but did not pay for the shoes, candy, or drinks. The associate stopped her outside of the exit and escorted her to the Asset Protection Office. David stated that she did take the items without payment, but said she had intended to pay for the shoes and forgot. After receiving permission to do so, EBRSO searched David’s purse for officer safety and possible merchandise. Two small clear bags were found with what appeared to be methamphetamines inside. A glass pipe was also found with black charring marks on the bottom and white residue inside. Lastly, there was a pill in the purse. Gordon was advised of her rights, after which she stated she knew the child had the slicer and did not attempt to take it from the child to pay for it.
