The Central swim team continued much to be proud of in their meet last Saturday at Crawfish Aquatics.  Junior, Matthew Usher led the way with a 6th place finish in the 100 freestyle and 4th place in the 100 backstroke.  Both times were good enough to qualify for the State Meet.

Several other individual swimmers placed high enough to score points.  Sophomores Geremy Porch  and Jack Way placed in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle.  While, freshman Ikaika Lee placed in the 50 freestyle.  On the girls side, junior Acacia Porch placed in the 200 freestyle, and sophomore Tejah Scott placed in the 50 freestyle.

The relays also performed well.  The girls 200 freestyle relay finished 5th, and the 400 freestyle relay finished 4th though a timing error did not accurately reflect the finish.  Both relays had Tejah Scott, Acacia Porch, Emily Hollier, and Rachel Raggio.  On the boys side, the 200 freestyle relay finished 3rd.  The relay was comprised of Geremy Porch, Jack Way, Ikaika Lee, and Matthew Usher.

First year swimmers Kaelyn Hollier, Landon Turner, Jaylon Francois, and Olivia Will dropped considerable time from the first meet.  After meets the last two weekends, Central will have a week off before returning to competition on September 26.
