Faith Fest ’15 is to be held on August 7, 8, and 9 on the Milldale Church Campus, six miles east of downtown Zachary.
The award winning Dixon Prison Band will perform twice on Friday and Saturday. Also the Lone Highway Band from Denham Springs will be the featured band on Friday night. Jim Hogg and his son James Linden are on the agenda, as well as Carlton Jones with the Old South Jamboree in Walker. The New Gospel Travelers Band from the Tangipahoa and Washington Parish area will be the featured Band on Saturday with two performances, including the 7:30 p.m. featured spot. Also on hand for singing and praising will be the 9 year old Ligon Twins, Lisa Domino, Kevin Santiago, and Debra and Sonny Hood.
Faith Fest 15 will have a number of area pastors who will be teaching and preaching the Word of God on Friday and Saturday. In addition a number of lay persons will be giving their personal faith-journey testimonies, including Chico Yancy and Migel Kelly, both of whom resided for more than 20 years inside the walls of Angola.
The Christian themed movies to be shown on both Friday and Saturday are Gift Horse, a movie which Earl Heard and Bic Media were involved in bringing to the silver screen. The well received God’s Not Dead movie, parts of which were filmed in the Baton Rouge area, is also on the list. A unique but inspirational movie on tap is as Dreamers Do. This movie is the life story of the great Walt Disney who in addition to being a world class dreamer, was a great man of faith. The other movie is Grace Unplugged.
In addition, a number of kid and youth games, including “Gaga Ball” and sack races as well as swimming pool activities are available. A nursery will be available for infants up to four years old. There will also be a special room designated to accommodate nursing mothers.
Milldale Conference Center is a huge complex that was built over many years under the guidance of Pastor Jimmy Robertson. It includes RV Hookups and motel rooms which will be available for those attendees who would like to stay on the grounds during Faith Fest. The cost of the air-conditioned rooms is only $30 for two nights but you have to bring your own sheets and pillows. RV hookups are available for two nights for $20.
All singing, preaching, teaching, testimonies, and film presentations will be held in air-conditioned buildings. A Prayer Chapel is located on the campus and will be staffed both Friday and Saturday.
