The Central Chamber Report

    One of the services provided by the Central Chamber of Commerce is to provide an opportunity for our investors to hear from and talk to our local officials.  Last week at our July Investors’ Luncheon our investors had such an opportunity!  
    Our local legislators Senators Dale Erdey and Bodi White and Representative Barry Ivey gave us an update on the 2015 Legislative Session.  They all discussed the difficulty of dealing with the State’s budget and how it will be an issue to be addressed immediately by the newly elected governor at the beginning of 2016.  Despite the difficulties of this session, it was encouraging to hear about the current and future projects in Central that will continue to be funded.  Thanks to Senators Erdey and White and Representatives Hodges and Ivey for all they do to represent and support our area.
    Mayor Junior Shelton took the opportunity to tell our investors about the 10th Anniversary Celebration that would be taking place in the City of Central and to give away some newly minted Anniversary Coins!   The Mayor promised a great day of fun, food, and celebration for all those who would come out.  He was correct!  Thanks to the Celebration Committee, BREC, the Mayor, the City Council, and many volunteers for putting together such a wonderful weekend celebration!
