Shoe Creek Development Approved: 697 Home Subdivision to Locate Across From Walmart
Central’s City Council gave preliminary approval on Tuesday for a new housing and commercial development to be built on Sullivan Road just south of Wax.
The 135 acre Traditional Neighborhood Development, or TND, would include 100,000 square feet of commercial space near Sullivan Road, 250 apartment units, and 447 homes. The project is expected to take 7 to 10 years to complete and the final phase included a roadway connecting it to Morgan Place subdivision.
The main discussion in the meeting came after a petition signed by over half of the residents of Morgan Place subdivision was presented objecting to tying the two subdivisions together at Sagebrush Ave. In a compromise, the City Council and the developer agreed not to complete the public roadway connecting the subdivisions unless a future City Council determines it would be viewed as desirable to the Morgan Place residents.
