Garage Sale Fundraiser for International Adoption

By  |

adoptionB    Paige (Burt) White and her husband, Jonathan, have been living in Central for the last several years with their two children. They are in the process of adding to their family through the process of adoption. Specifically, they are waiting for a match with a girl 3 years old or younger from China. They began the process about a year ago and also began fundraising at that time.
All of the fees and travel expenses are overwhelming when you look at the total, but it is very important to the couple to have all of the funding when they are matched so they can travel as quickly as possible. To accomplish that goal, they have had a t-shirt sale, a silent auction, a summer garage sale last year, several acting camps (they both have Theatre degrees), a Premier Jewelry Sale, a Vendor Blender, a Washin’ 4 Adoption carwash, a World’s Finest Chocolate Sale, and they have applied for grants (and have been awarded 2!) Because of all of these efforts and the amazing generosity of family and friends, they are only about $5000 away from the total goal!

Paige and Jonathan White will be having a donations only/no price tags garage sale this Friday and Saturday from 7-12 at 10225 South Ida, off of Hooper Road. It is a multi-family garage sale with a great variety of items and all monies raised will go directly to the fundraising efforts for their adoption of a little girl from China.
They are also hosting an Acting Camp at Parkview Baptist School from June 8-12. Information can be found at www.eagleexperience.camp. It is listed under "Enrichment Camps-Theatre Arts Camp." It is for students entering K-12th grade and will be held at Parkview Baptist School.
