The Crowning Moment Raises Awareness About Skin Cancer at LSO Hat Run
The Crowning Moment girls from the Baton Rouge area participated in the annual LSO Hat Run on April 25 at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. The local beauty queens volunteered their time and energy to helping Sarah Lomax Grey, Founder of the LSO Foundation, to host a successful event. TCM also walked the 1K and helped hand out awards. Before the event, TCM girls came together to create and decorate a hat of their choice for the LSO hat contest. At the event, The Crowning Moment won Best Group – Most Creative Hats; while Lily Hensley won Best Kids’ Hat Overall. The girls helped pass out sunscreen, volunteered at the kids’ tent, and helped hand out soft drinks in the Coca Cola tent. The Crowning Moment offers youth mentoring and pageant coaching to girls across the Gulf Coast. Girls and their families spend time not only on the stage, but participating in community events, working with charities, and showing first hand that it’s more important to wear their crowns on their hearts by serving others.
