CHS tops #6 Sam Houston in first round of Playoffs, 5-3

The Central Wildcats and Sam Houston volleyed the lead four times on Tuesday, but the Wildcats came out on top for a 5-3 win on Tuesday at Sam Houston.
The Central Wildcats Varsity pulled out the win thanks to a strong sixth inning. A fielder's choice scored Tristan Tullier and gave the Central Wildcats Varsity the lead for good after scoring four runs in the inning.
Central staved off Sam Houston as Sam Houston was unable to match the Central Wildcats Varsity down the stretch.
Makhail Hilliard got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered six hits.
Central’s closer Shane Fontenot put away the final six outs to record the save.
The Wildcats will travel to Byrd High School in Shreveport this weekend for the second round of the playoffs
