CHS Bowling Enters Playoffs
By Coach Godley
CHS Boys Bowling (12-0) showed once again they’re arguably the best bowling team the Baton Rouge area has to offer. On Wednesday (3-18-15), Central had to have an unofficial tie-breaker match against Dutchtown (12-0) to determine which undefeated team would be the #1 seed for next week’s LHSAA State Playoffs – Regionals. For fairness purposes, the match had to be held at a neutral site and took place at Circle Bowl.
The Wildcats stormed out to a commanding lead and never looked back. Central swept all the points in Game 1 winning 8-0 and 1047-892. Jacob Garretson (Senior/Captain) led the way with a 196, followed by Parker Wales (Sophomore) with a 191, Parker Aucoin (Sophomore) with a 190 and Johnathan Ryder’s (Junior) 181. Both teams improved in Game 2 and the points would be split 4-4 with Central winning Total Pins 1105-984. Aucoin was high in the second game with a 243, with Garretson shooting a 236 and Dylan Ringo (Sophomore) rolling a 199. With the match all but wrapped up for Central, the Wildcats finished off the match by beating the Griffins 6-2 and 935-845 in Game 3. Overall, the Wildcats won by a final score of 21-6 (3087-2721 Total Pins) with Garretson leading the way with a nice 619 series and followed by Aucoin’s 599.
The Central Girls (10-1) also claimed the #1 Seed for Regionals.
