CHS Bowling: Double District Champions!

Boys Wrap Up Second Perfect Season in Three Years, Eye Deep Run in the LHSAA State Playoffs

    Central Boys (12-0) completed another perfect season on Monday (3-16-15) by beating Zachary (6-5) at All Star Lanes.  The Wildcats continued their dominant bowling by starting the match off with a record breaking school team game with an amazing 1239.  Jacob Garretson (Senior/Captain) led the team with a 266, followed by Parker Aucoin’s (Sophmore) 224, Johnathan Ryder (Junior) and Bryce Delaune’s (Sophomore) 203, Dylan Ringo’s (Sophomore) 194 and Parker Wales’ (Sophomore) 149.  Overall the Wildcats won 26.5-.5 and 3376-2468 in Total Pins.  Central won each game, 8-0 (1239-821), 7.5-.5 (1111-871) and 8-0 (1026-776). Garretson led the team with a 694, followed by Aucoin’s 598, Ryder’s 579 and Delaune’s 576.  On February 23rd, the Wildcats defeated the Broncos 24.5-2.5 (3022-2403).
    On Wednesday (3-11-15) the Boys improved to 11-0 with the forfeit from Scotlandville (0-12). Fantastic bowling by Garretson with a 701 series (246, 202, 253) and Ryder rolled a nice 574 (201). Also, Bryce Delaune rolled a 419 (2 games) with a 225 and 194. Overall the team rolled an 1114, 1075, 1140 for a 3329.
Garretson will finish the season with a team high 216 average and Aucoin is second with a 198.  Ringo led the team in winning percentage with a perfect 100%, winning all 32 matches he bowled and Garretson was second with a 95% (32.5-1.5).  As a team, Central is only Boys team in the Baton Rouge area to have all 6 starters win at least 20 individual matches and Garretson had a team high of 32.5 wins.
    For the second time in three years, The Wildcats also wrapped up another perfect season (34-2 over those three years) and are District Champions for the third straight year.  The Boys will bowl a tie breaker with Dutchtown (12-0) on Wednesday (1-18-15) at Circle Bowl to determine who will be the #1 or #2 Seed for Regionals of the LHSAA State Tournament next week.  The #1 Seed will receive a BYE in Round 1 on Monday (3-23-15) and will be back in action on Wednesday (3-25-15) at All Star Lanes at 1:15pm against an opponent to be named later in Round 2.  Otherwise, the #2 Seed bowls on Monday (3-23-15) in Round 1.  COME SUPPORT YOUR WILDCATS NEXT WEEK, IT'S PLAYOFF TIME!!!

Girls Finish as Co-District Champions, Look to Win a LHSAA Championship

    Central Girls (10-1) cruised to another victory on Tuesday (3-17-15) against St Amant (4-6) at All Star Lanes.  The Wildcats continued their dominant bowling by winning every game in blowout fashion.  They won Game 1 8-0 (987-630), Game 2 7-1 (889-665) and Game 3 6-2 (815-609).  Overall the Wildcats won 24-3 and 2691-1904 in Total Pins.  Sarah LeDuff (Junior) led the team with a 533 (208 game) and Haley Young (Senior/Captain) followed with a 496 series (173).  Kaylee Robinson (Junior) rolled a 482 (180) and Brianna McCurley (Sophomore) also had a nice day with a 451 (177).  Earlier this season, the Wildcats defeated the Gators 23-4 (2704-2133).
On Thursday (3-12-15) the Wildcats defeated first year team East Ascension (3-7).  The Spartans couldn’t field a full lineup and Central cruised once again.  The Wildcats won all three games, winning Game 1 7-1 (973-597), Game 2 8-0 (907-461) and Game 3 7-1 (796-353). With the 3 bonus points for Total Pins, Central won 25-2 (2676-1411 Total Pins).  Young led the way by rolling a 520 (182) and LeDuff was right behind with a 512 (182).  Back on February 2nd, the Wildcats defeated the Spartans 23-4 (2626-2162).
LeDuff will finish the season with a team high 184 average and Young was second with a 179.  K Robinson led the team in winning percentage with a 92%, going 25-2 on the season and LeDuff was second with an 82% (24-5).  As a team, Central tied for the most bowlers to win 20 individual matches with 5 girls and K Robinson had a team high of 25 wins.
    The Wildcats also wrapped up another 10-1 season (back to back years) and are District Champions for the second straight year, this year sharing the title with St Joseph’s (9-1).  The Girls will most likely be either a #1 or #2 Seed for the Regionals of the LHSAA State Tournament next week.  The Girls will receive a BYE in Round 1 on Monday (3-23-15) and will be in action next Wednesday (3-25-15) at All Star Lanes at 1:15pm against an opponent to be named later in Round 2.  COME SUPPORT YOUR WILDCATS NEXT WEEK, IT'S PLAYOFF TIME!!!
