SONY DSCCENTRAL BOYS 3-PEAT AS DISTRICT CHAMPIONS

CHS Boys Bowling (9-0) kept on winning on Wednesday (3-4-15) at Circle Bowl, this time over Broadmoor (6-2) for a second time this season.  Earlier this season, the Wildcats defeated the Bucs 19-8 (3251-3077) and the second time around was pretty much the same outcome.  Also with the win, the Wildcats claimed the District Title for a 3rd straight year.
The Wildcats won the first two games easily, winning Game 1 7-1 (1075-894) and Game 2 8-0 (1068-959).  Parker Aucoin (Sophomore) led the way in Game 1 with a 203 and Jacob Garretson (Senior/Captain) rolled a 186.  Game 2 was led by Johnathan Ryder’s (Junior) 197, followed by Garretson’s 194, Dylan Ringo’s (Sophomore) 192 and Bryce Delaune’s (Sophomore) 180.  With the match all but wrapped up for Central, the Wildcats cleared the bench and still rolled a respectable 931 to the Buc’s 964.  Broadmoor won Game 3 6-2.  Ringo was high in Game 3 with a 213.  Overall, the Wildcats won by a final score of 20-7 (3074-2817 Total Pins) with Ringo leading the way with a nice 581 series, followed by Aucoin’s 548 and Ryder’s 514.

CHS BOYS BOWLING KEEP ON ROLLING
Make it 10 in a row, Central (10-0) crushed The Runnels School (8-1) in a battle of unbeatens on Monday (3-9-15) at All Star Lanes.
Central Boys continued their dominating ways by winning all three games in fairly easy fashion.  They won Game 1 8-0 (1009-879), Game 2 8-0 (1195-859) and Game 3 7-1 (1106-954).  Overall, the Wildcats won by a final score of 26-1 (3310-2692 Total Pins) with Dylan Ringo (Sophomore) leading the way with a nice 634 series (256 game), followed by Jacob Garretson’s (Senior/Captain) 616 (213) and Parker Aucoin’s (Sophomore) 604 (230).  Monday marks the first time this season that Central had at least three bowlers shoot over a 600 series.   Bryce Delaune (Sophomore) also had a nice day chipping in a 540 (197) and Johnathan Ryder (Junior) was right behind with a 512 (186).  Without a doubt, this was one of the team’s best performances of the season and they seem to be hitting their stride with the State Playoffs just a couple weeks away.
Central will try to keep their undefeated season and hopes of being a #1 Regional Seed alive on Wednesday (3-11-15) against Scotlandville (0-9) and next Monday (3-16-15) against Zachary (6-4).  Earlier this season, the Wildcats defeated the Hornets and Broncos, 27-0 and 24.5-2.5 respectively.  Both matches will be at All Star Lanes at 3:15pm.

ST JOSEPH’S ACADEMY HAND CENTRAL FIRST LOSS

CHS Girls Bowling (8-1) run at an undefeated season came to an end on Wednesday (3-4-15) at Circle Bowl against St Joseph’s Academy (6-1).  The Wildcats defeated SJA early this season 24-3, but this time around was a different story.
SJA rolled a season high team game and series en route to the victory.  St Joseph came out winning a close Game 1 with some key late strikes, 6-2 and 808-793.  Central responded well and won Game 2 with a solid performance, 6-2 and 870-805.  With the match locked up at 8 apiece and Central leading Total Pins by 50, St Joseph found a great time to roll their season high game.  St Joseph bowled a very good 893 to Central’s 821 and won Game 3 5-3.  With the match at 13-11 in favor a SJA, it would come down to Total Pins for the bonus 3 points.  By only 18 pins SJA would come out on top, 2506-2484 and 16-11 overall.  Sarah LeDuff (Junior) led the team with a 552 series (193, 195, 164) and Kaylee Robinson (Junior) chipped in with a 168.  St Joseph’s Academy was led by Claire Barbier with a 480 (186) and McKenzie Prudhomme’s 462 (178).
If both Central and St Joseph’s win out the rest of the season, they will be Co-District Champions.  Also, with two matches left Central still has the highest team average in the Baton Rouge area with a 939, which is anchored by LeDuff’s 187 average (which is also the area’s highest individual average) and Haley Young’s (Senior/Captain) 182.  St Scholastica (8-1) is second and right behind Central with a 917.  The Girls are back at All Star Lanes on Thursday (3-12-15) against East Ascension (2-5) and on Tuesday (3-17-15) against St Amant (4-4).  St Joseph’s has a big match on Wednesday (3-11-15) at All Star Lanes against Denham Springs (5-3).  All matches start at 3:15PM.
