The CMS girls soccer team has just wrapped up their best season yet. They competed in the BRSC Middle School league for the fourth year and this was their year. For the regular season they ended with a record of 5-1 and in second place. Going into the end of year tournament they all had their sights on nothing less than to be the champions. With a solid first match the Lady Wildcats knocked off the MSA Lady Knights by a score of 8-0. The next match was a hard fought battle with LP Express. The Wildcats took the victory 1-0 to put them in the championship game against McKinley Lady Mustangs. In the championship match the Lady Wildcats found themselves down 1-0 after the first half. They came out on fire for the second half scoring 3 goals and never looking back.
These girls showed a ton of heart and passion for the game spending many hours of practice in the cold and wet to prepare for this season. This is a great group of young ladies that have represented Central Middle School and our town with the highest standards of sportsmanship and class. Congratulations go out to their coaches Ashley McDowell and Sarah LeBlanc. They are building a great future for girls soccer in Central.
