Wildcat Update: Wildcats Finish Strong

By  |

On the heels of a win over Walker a week earlier, Central rolled into Live Oak Friday night and walked away with a season-ending 35-7 win over the Eagles.
Central relied almost exclusively on the running game, putting up 259 yards on 36 carries for a 7.2 yard average.  Leo Brownfield led all rushers with 133 yards on a8 carries and QB Tyler Sansone carried 13 times for 75 yards.
Central jumped out to an early 14-0 lead with an interception for a touchdown by Jearimiah Ward and a Justin Vessel 39 yard TD.  Central added two TD runs of 15 and 1 yards by Sansone and a 36 yard scoring pass from Sansone to Terrell Chatman to account for the final score of 35-7.
Central’s Defense, which has come on strong in the second half of the season, held Live Oak to a single first half score, snagged three interceptions and recovered Live Oak’s only fumble.
Finishing 4-6 for the year, this young Central team will head for roles in Baseball and Basketball or step back into the year-round regimen of conditioning and weight training that has become a hallmark of Wildcat football.
