CHS Swim Swims Well

    For the third meet in a row, Matthew Arnold won both of his individual events to lead the Wildcats.  Matthew won the 200 freestyle in 1:58.92 and the 100 backstroke in 1:01.09.  Both of those times qualify him for the state meet in those events.
    Wildcats finished 1st and 3rd in the 100 backstroke as Matthew Usher finished 3rd with a time of 1:06.70.  Swimming with a virus, Matthew Usher added a second place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:26.28.  That time qualifies Matthew for the state meet in that event, which is the 4th individual event in which he has qualified for the state meet.
    As for the girls team, freshman Tejah Scott finished 6th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 30.77 seconds.  Tejah finished 9th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:11.82.  Sophomore Acacia Porch finished 8th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 31.03.  Sophomore Emily Hollier finished 10th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 31.63.  
    Freshman Geremy Porch finished 11th in the 100 freestyle with a personal best time of 1:04.44.  Junior Devin Avery cut 7 seconds off his 100 freestyle time finishing in 1:11.71.
    The girls 200 freestyle relay swam a season best time of 2:12.97 and finished 4th.  That relay consisted of Brooke Demoulin, Tejah Scott, Acacia Porch and Emily Hollier.
    The boys 200 medley relay swam a season best time of 2:07.59 and finished 4th.  That relay consisted of Matthew Usher, Geremy Porch, Matthew Arnold, Matthew Arnold.  
    Every swimmer is working very hard in practice and the results are evident as each swimmer has dropped time from the previous meet.
