Young Central Swim Team Continues Improvement

            For the second meet in a row, Matthew Arnold won both his individual events.  Impressively, Matthew won different events than the two he won at the last meet.  He won the 500 freestyle, one of his strongest events, in 5:19.03.  Then he won the 100 breaststroke, formerly one of his weakest events, in 1:09.30.

            Matthew Usher had strong swims in his events as well.  Matthew qualified for the state event in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:09.77.  He also finished 7th in the 50 freestyle in 26.10 seconds.

            Freshmen Tejah Scott and Jack Way had impressive performances as well.  Tejah shaved 1.5 seconds off of her backstroke and 2.5 seconds off of her freestyle times.  Meanwhile, Jack cut 2 seconds off his freestyle time.

            Devin Avery, Stephanie Pourciau, Lyndee Debetaz, and Brooke Demoulin continued to lower their times.

            Acacia Porch, Geremy Porch, and Emily Hollier scored points for the Wildcats in their individual events.  Acacia finished 10th in the 100 freestyle.  Geremy cut a second off his 100 freestyle., and Emily cut 2 seconds off her 100 freestyle.

            The final regular season meet before the City Meet is October 18.
