Wildcat Update: CHS Falls to McKinley, Hosts Scotlandville Friday

By  |

A strong McKinley squad came into Wildcat Stadium last Friday and capitalized on Central’s mistakes to topple the cats 34-14.
Central gave away a score early by fumbling on the Mckinley 1 yard line.  Adding to the problems, McKinley blocked a punt and recovered at the Central 5, leading to another score.  The final blows came on two Central passes returned for interceptions.
Fortunately for Central in the defeat was that Mckinley is not a District opponent, leaving the door open to compete for the District title.  Central begins District play this Friday at home against a strong Scotlandville team.
One bright spot for the Wildcats was the return of Tyler Sansone, who was injured in his start at quarterback the week prior.  Sansone was limited to running back duty, protecting his slightly injured throwing shoulder.

Friday night in Wildcat Stadium the Wildcats face tough District opponent Scotlandville.  While Central has prevailed in this contest the last several years, each game has been decided by only a few points.
Friday’s contest also marks the opening of District play for Central, who will be chasing a seventh consecutive District Championship.  Come out Friday for the 7PM kickoff and enjoy the new expanded parking after demolition of the old auditorium and boys’ gym.
Friday’s game, and every game this year, will be broadcast on 91.9 FM thanks in large part to title sponsor Central Stat Care.  You can also catch the broadcast on the TuneIn App at 91.9 on any smart phone.
