City Officials Appointed
By Dave Freneaux
With a change in administration a number of city officials must be appointed or reappointed to their positions, and employees of the city can be retained or replaced. At Tuesday night’s Council meeting the following appointments were made.
Being reappointed to the positions they held under the prior administration were Phil Miley as Central’s Hearing Officer/Court Magistrate and Mark Miley as City Clerk. Suzonne Cowart will continue as the Finance Director and Mark Balkin (not pictured) as the Planning & Zoning Attorney.
In the sole change of appointed positions, Central’s new City Attorney is Jennifer Sims of the Baton Rouge law firm Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson.
One of Central’s two full time employees, David Barrow, will remain as the Chief Administrative Officer. Charlotte Fergerson, who retired after serving as Administrative Assistant to outgoing mayor Mac Watts, will be replaced in the front office of City Hall by Candice Salsbury.
