In Memoriam: Dina Devillier

DevillierObitB    Dina Ventre Devillier, a native of Opelousas and resident of Greenwell Springs, LA for 38 years, passed away in Baton Rouge on Wednesday May 7th. She was at The Carpenter’s House Hospice.  She was 66 years old. She is survived by her loving and loyal husband of 47 years, Donald Ray Devillier.   She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Ventre Reed.  She is also survived by her daughters, Debbie Devillier Norwood and son in law Brock Norwood and Dana Devillier McLin and son in law Dustin McLin as well as her grandchildren Gabriel Norwood and Danielle McLin.  She is survived by sisters, Dorothy (Dot Ann) Ventre Richard, Barbara Leger Barber, Robert (Bobby) Ventre and wife Debbie Ventre, Liz Ventre Day, and Patrice Ventre Bagby, husband Jimmy Bagby.  Her brothers in law Allen Devillier, wife Cheryl Devillier, David Devillier, wife Sharon Devillier.  She had many nieces and nephews she loved so much!  She is preceded in death by her father Robert Ventre, brother in law Francis Richard, and Craig Devillier.  

    Resthaven services were Saturday, May 10th where she was also buried.  She was a resident of Central for 38 years.  She loved this city and the people.  She and her husband were parishioners of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for 38 years as well. Dina loved her devoted husband, mother, daughters, sons in law, and those two beautiful grandchildren.  She will be missed and we ask for many prayers for the family members as they continue to heal and find peace.
