Fishing for Kenlie This Saturday

By  |

This Saturday, May 17th is the Fishing for Kenlie kids’ fishing event to benefit local student Kenlie Jackson and her family.  This benefit is being conducted to assist the Jackson Family with medical expenses, medical equipment or devices needed, physical therapy, travel and lodging expenses, and other financial needs related to Kenlie’s illness.  Fishing for Kenlie starts at 7 AM.  Participants should meet at that time at the Central Square Pavilion behind Raising Cane’s at the corner of Wax and Sullivan.  At this time, there will be a check in and a tournament rules and assignments meeting.  The final weigh in will also be held at Central Square at the end of the fishing at 4PM.  Kids ages 5 through 14 are invited to come fish.  Children ages 4 and under are also invited to the Central Square Pavilion for fun activities during the event.  There will be prizes for the highest number of fish, total weight of fish, and biggest fish for ages 10-14 and for ages 9 and under.  Jambalaya will be sold as a fundraiser, and free hot dogs will be provided for the kids.  All kids must have an adult guardian for the event.  Beginning at 4PM when everyone returns from fishing, there will also be a great raffle at the pavilion.  Please visit the Fishing for Kenlie page on facebook for an entry form.  Several area businessmen have generously sponsored 65 kids for the tournament. The first 65 kids to register starting at 7 a.m. at the Pavilion at Central Square are now prepaid!  Please come out for this fun benefit that has brought together participants and volunteers from all over Central with fishing ponds, good food, raffle items, and fun activities for this great cause.
