Central Sales Tax Report

    Sales tax revenues within the city of Central were up 3.8% in October 2013 compared to October 2012.   Sales tax revenues, excluding motor vehicle sales taxes, within the city totaled $383,415.81 for the month of October 2013.
    For the current fiscal year starting July 1, 2013 through October 31, 2013, sales tax revenues are up 3.08% compared to the same period in 2012.   Motor vehicle sales tax revenues are also up by 4.31%.
    The increase in sales taxes can be contributed to more citizens shopping locally as well as better reporting and auditing controls by the City-Parish, which collects sales taxes for all areas of the parish.
