We would like to extend a big thank you to CIS staff and students!  Kain Huey is a 5th grader at CIS in Ms. Lindsay’s/Ms. Hausse’s class. He went to Ms. Taylor, the principal, asking if she could help in on a mission to raise money for his team with the Alzheimer’s Walk/Run that was held on 10/19/13.  She had him go home and think of some ideas, and they decided to sell popsicles at school on 10/3 and 10/4.  Together the school raised for $740.35 for Team Cornbread!  Thank you again to all of you that gave.  So many are affected by this disease, and young children like Kain have been affected as well with memories of loved ones before and after diagnosis.  Kain’s uncle Conrad Starns passed away last year.  He was able to see him at his best and worst, and for that he’s found compassion and sympathy for those dealing with this horrible disease.
Kain is already thinking of some cool ideas for next year, so be on the lookout, as he’s thinking of getting the entire community involved!  The team’s total donation on 10/19/2013 was $1,160.35.  Oh what a difference one kid can make.
