Despite being without numerous swimmers due to injury, illness, and absences, the Central swim team had strong individual efforts.
Matthew Usher finished 4th in the 200 IM, and qualified for the State Meet in the 100 butterfly.  Matthew Arnold had two top 5 finishes in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke.  Kade McAdams finished 4th in the 50 freestyle and 9th in the 100 freestyle.  Daniel Parker finished 3rd in the 50 freestyle.  Emerald Roney finished 9th in the 100 freestyle and 8th in the 100 backstroke.
The boys 200 medley relay (Usher, Arnold, Parker, McAdams) and 200 freestyle relay (Polk, Usher, Arnold, McAdams) finished second in both events.
A few Wildcats performed very well in some events that they competed in for the first time.  Acacia Porch finished 11th in the 200 freestyle and Emily Hollier finished 12th in the 100 freestyle.  Meanwhile, Anna Johannson swam well in her first attempt at the 100 breaststroke.
As the swimmers turn their attention to the City Meet, November 2-3, a few swimmers are very close to qualifying for the State Meet.  Brennon Young and Cameron Polk are within a second of the time for the 50 freestyle.
