On Saturday, October 5, 2013, Ray Brown was honored by his family on his 103rd birthday with a dinner at Sammy's Grille and cake and ice cream at his daughter and son-in-law’s home in Hampton Village Estates.  Mr. Brown  was born and raised in Chanceford Township, Pennsylvania.  He served on the USS Sangay in the Pacific during WWII.  After retiring from Teledyne McKay, he and his wife moved to Baton Rouge to be near their daughter and her family.
He has been a faithful member of Oakcrest Baptist Church for the past 27 years and the last 12 years he has been a resident of Central.  He is pictured above with his daughter and son-in-law, Raeletta and David Simmons, and his granddaughter, Amanda Boulton.
