Central improved their record and their play last Friday night at McKinley.  The 3-1 Wildcats took home a solid 42-15 victory after a frustrating loss to Jesuit the week before.  Most of the first half was a back and forth struggle between the two teams, with McKinley responding to Central’s first touchdown just one minute later with a 45 yard scoring run.  The score was 27-13 at the half, but the Wildcats broke away in the second half.  Two moments of interest in the game were a blocked extra point by Central and a safety by McKinley.
Along with a consistent passing game with Hayes going 11/18 with a touchdown, the rush proved especially useful for Central.  Brownfield put up a solid 82 yards on 9 carries and a touchdown for Central, and Jake Myer was consistent at the goal line, running in three short carries for touchdowns.  Head Coach Sid Edwards said of the game, “We really put it together last Friday against McKinley.  We still have lots of improving to do, though.”
