Central Falls Short to Jesuit

By  |

In Central’s first real test of the year, Jesuit came out on top last Friday, 17-14.  Central, now 2-1, kept it close with a first half interception return for a touchdown by Donald Lewis.  Jesuit, also now 2-1, responded with ten unanswered second half points to take the 17-14 lead with 5:33 remaining in the game.  Central failed to convert on its final drive.

Head Coach Sid Edwards commented, “The Jesuit game was a tough loss in that we know overall we were the better team.  We are working hard to put our team in the best position to win.”
Central’s defense held Jesuit to 95 rushing yards with Dalton Holdman leading all tacklers with 7 stops, one for a loss.  Senior QB Jarrad Hayes went 12 for 22 for 127 yards and showed another side of his game with 12 rushes for 73 yards.  Next up for the Wildcats is a road trip this Friday to McKinkley.
