She graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1957. Volean was a true Southern Belle and very proud of her Southern Heritage; and she was a dedicated Christian, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and nanny who will be missed dearly by all those who loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Meador and husband Bobby; son, Ricky Reuther and wife Alva; her beloved brother Warren "Joe" Davis Sr.; grandchildren, Ryan Meador and wife Dixie, Wes Meador and wife Danielle, and Daniel Reuther; great grandchildren, Lucus, Lillian, and Annabelle Meador; niece, Jody Moss; godchildren, Warren Davis Jr. and Hannah Davis; and former husband, Brian Reuther. Volean is preceded in death by her parents, Fred W. and Lillian P. Davis.
Her greatest loves were family, friends, her dog Katie, her grand dogs, and just life itself. A John Wayne, Elvis Presley, Clark Gable, and Gone with the wind enthusiast, she also had an avid passion for LSU. She was the Queen of Road Kill twice and named the "Pokeno Queen" of the Greater Baton Rouge/ Pride Pokeno and Social Club. Our Beloved "MawMaw's" smile will truly be missed but will live on through her legacy. Visitation was held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm and Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Augustine Epispcoal Church from 9am until funeral service at 10am.
