In Memoriam: William Earl “Hoot” Gibson Jr.

    William Earl "Hoot" Gibson Jr. of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana was born January 15, 1937. He passed away at home on July 13, 2013 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gay Nell Parker Gibson; daughters, Karen Romero, Kimberly Jones (Marc), and Kelly Pardue (Jeff); grandchildren, Courtney Romero Begnaud (Kenneth "Bubba"), Patrick Romero, Tyler Jones, Leigh Anne Jones, Kyle Pardue (Katelyn), Sarah Pardue, and Anna Pardue; great granddaughter, McKenzie Begnaud; siblings, Phyllis Loupe and Jerry Gibson; and longtime friend, Warren Soulier. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl and Georgeanna Gibson, and son-in-law, Weston Romero Jr. 
   "Hoot" was a member of IBEW Local Union 995 for over fifty years. He joined the IBEW on January 1, 1958, serving as president and on numerous committees and initiatives. He was well loved and always made his friends and family laugh. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, adoring daughters, family and friends. Visitation was held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Greenoaks Funeral Home and  continued Tuesday, July 16, 2013 until the funeral service officiated by Brother George Threeton of Greenwell Springs Baptist Church. Interment followed at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Tyler Jones, Patrick Romero, Kyle Pardue, Kenneth Begnaud, Daryl Dedon and Warren Soulier.
