Central Independence Day

July 11th has been officially recognized as “Central Independence Day”. By action of the City Council this anniversary of the 2005 appointment of Central’s first Mayor, Council and Chief of Police has been set aside to recognize the successful creation of the City of Central. Many of the people involved in the early days of the incorporation effort were in attendance. Council Member Louis DeJohn recognized and thanked these persons for their selfless contributions of time and energy that allowed Central to become the city it is today.
