Councilman Moak Proposes City-Wide Flood Study

By  |
With the potential $2 million savings in flood insurance premiums resulting from the Beaver Bayou Watershed study, Councilman Aaron Moak has introduced legislation to determine whether other areas of Central may benefit from similar studies.  Moak shared that “based on this success, I want to go forward with studying the rest of the city.  We are not assured this same great result in other areas, but every homeowner in Central deserves this same opportunity.”
The Ordinance will be introduced at next Tuesday’s Council Meeting and will be voted on at the August 13th meeting.  A favorable vote from the Council would set in motion a preliminary study to determine if other watersheds in Central warrant detailed study.
