In Memoriam: Joseph BeJeaux

Joseph Phillip BeJeaux
    A loving husband, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at the age of 72.  He graduated from Istrouma High School in 1958 and then attended LSU until he joined the U.S. Army.  After serving the country, he worked at Exxon until retiring in 1996.  He was a Deacon for the Diocese of Baton Rouge at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.  He did nursing home and prison ministry for the Diocese of Baton Rouge.  He was an Adoration Chapel adorer at St.  Alphonsus Catholic Church, and involved in various other ministries including Knights of Columbus and the Ushers Society.    
    Visitation was held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 5 PM until 9 PM and resumed on Friday, May 3, 2013, from 9:30 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11 AM.  Interment was held at 3 PM at LA National Cemetery.  
    He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Wilson BeJeaux; three children, J. Paul BeJeaux and wife, Nichol Lacy, Suzanne BeJeaux Ozier, and Amanda BeJeaux and husband, Matt; six grandchildren, Nicholas and Joshua BeJeaux, Kyle and Victoria Ozier, and Matthew and Madison Milton.  He is preceeded in death by his parents, Numa and Helen Mason BeJeaux.  A special thanks to his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sandra and Jerry Gainer and Connie and Butch Breaux for your companionship over the years.  Pallbearers were Gerald Gainer, V.W. “Butch” Breaux, Gene Wilson, Joe Wilson, Richard Wilson, Jimmy Ferriell, and Vernon Pastorick.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Phil’s name to St. Vincent de Paul Society 1466 North St. Baton Rouge, La.  70802.In Memoriam: Joseph BeJeaux
