LRTA Committees Meet to Prepare for the Spring Meeting

    The Budget Committee and the Executive Committee of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association met on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the offices of the association in Baton Rouge.  Major topics of discussion were the association’s operating budget for fiscal year 2013-2014, and the 2013 Regular Legislative Session.  Recommendations on the budget and on legislative issues, including positions on bills affecting retired educators under consideration by the legislature, will be presented to the Executive Board.  The board meets semi-annually, and the next board meeting is scheduled to be held in Alexandria, Louisiana on April 23, at 1:30 p.m.  The location of the board meeting will be at the Sai Convention Center, 2301 North MacArthur Drive.  All LRTA members are invited to attend.  
    The Louisiana Retired Teachers Association is a non-profit membership organization that serves as the voice of the retired education community and represents interests of its members by monitoring, protecting and improving the benefits needed to secure dignity, independence, and overall quality of life.
