EBRSO Solves Theft in 48 Hours

A $1,500 utility trailer was stolen from 15855 Greenwell Springs Road early in the morning on April 2nd. Less than 48 hours later Dalin Ardoin of Weyanoke, LA was under arrest for possessing that same trailer. EBRSO Lt. Jared Ruiz was briefed on the theft at the 5PM shift change on April 4th and alertly identified the suspected truck, identified from security camera footage at the point of the theft, and the trailer a little after midnight on Greenwell Springs near Hooper.
Lt. Ruiz, also noting that the trailer had no license plate, made the traffic stop, confirmed the VIN of the trailer and made the arrest. The trailer’s rims had been freshly painted black and black paint was sprayed over the VIN to conceal the identity of the trailer. Two empty cans of black spray paint were in plain view in the back of the suspect’s pickup truck. Thanks to EBRSO and to Lt. Ruiz for solving this theft in under 48 hours.
