April 22 at 12PM: What Arthritis Patients Should Know about Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis, a condition in which the bones become less dense and more likely to fracture, affects 55% of Americans aged 50 and above. Of these, approximately 80% are women. There is also an increased risk of osteoporosis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis as well as other rheumatic conditions.
Dr. Joseph Nesheiwat with Zachary Rheumatology will discuss “What Arthritis Patients Should Know About Osteoporosis” during the “Ask the Doctor” Lunch and Learn session on Monday, April 22, from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m., in the Staff Development Classroom at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary.

To the Chinese today, it is as much the norm to see an acupuncturist or doctor of traditional Chinese medicine as it is for us to visit our own physicians. For most Westerners, however, considering acupuncture for the first time raises many questions.
