Rebel Basketball: South State Champs

    The Central Private School boys' basketball team won the South State Championship Saturday night in an away game against the Brookhaven Academy Cougars.  The Rebels came out on top in a close game with a final score of 22-20.  Central Private faced Brookhaven after their 67-46 playoff win last Friday over Simpson Academy.  They will advance to the MAIS AA State Tournament at Canton Academy in Canton, Mississippi this week.  The first game of the State Tournament happened Wednesday night, with Central Private facing Oak Hill Academy.  The winner of that game will play this Friday night at 6PM at Canton Academy.
    The Rebels have had a great season.  As of Wednesday morning, Central Private has an overall record of 24-3.
