Lauren Ventrella is someone to watch as a positive force and fresh face from Central. She has taken a big step from Central into East Baton Rouge Parish government with a determination, leadership ability, and passion for law and public policy that few possess.
Ventrella was nominated and appointed by the East Baton Rouge Metro Council to serve on the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board in January, as well as elected to the 2013 Executive Board of Republican Women of Central as Corresponding Secretary.
The ABC board licenses and regulates all businesses and individuals in the parish who sell, serve or dispense alcoholic beverages, including Central, Zachary, and Baker. The ABC board is also now responsible for enforcing Central’s recently adopted alcohol regulations. As the board is appointed at-large, Lauren is the only serving member who is a resident of Central. As such, Lauren will continue her commitment to the Central community and will represent the City’s best interest for a 4-year term.
Add this to the fact that Ventrella is a student in her 3rd year at Southern University Law Center, where she is pursuing her Juris Doctorate and simultaneously a Masters Degree of Public Administration, making it apparent she is one dynamic and brilliant young lady.
At Southern Law School, Ventrella serves as the President of the Criminal Law Society, Hospitality Chair of the Federalist Society, and a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
This life-long Central resident and Central High School graduate is a member of the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women, and will serve as a voting delegate to the LFRW 30th Biennial Convention in March in New Iberia.
Her commitment to public service began at LSU where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. During her time at LSU, she served as a Congressional Intern for Congressman Bill Cassidy, volunteered in leadership LSU’s College Republicans and on various state and local political campaigns as well as animal welfare organizations.
Having taken graduate classes in nearly every aspect of Public Policy, she has become versed in local, as well as state, policies. She also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Johnny Cochran Endowed Professor Donald North and is currently works as Teaching Assistant to Second Amendment proponent, Professor Maurice Franks.
Ventrella is also happy to be a Central homeowner and intends to remain in Central to continue making a positive impact and giving back to the community.
Currently, Ventrella is a member of First United Methodist Church and works as a Law Clerk to Aidan C. Reynolds, trial attorney, primarily on civil rights litigation, general civil litigation, and criminal defense.
