We are highlighting businesses that received awards at our 3rd Annual Awards & Installations Banquet held on January 10.  Last week we looked at our “New Business of the Year” and “Small Business of the Year”.  This week we highlight two more.
MEDIUM BUSINESS CATEGORY
Nominees: Acadiana Constructors, Central Cleaners, Chase Health Care, Linx Electric, Ross Tire
This Year’s winner of the medium business category established their business in 1982 and joined the chamber in 2006.  In order for a community to continue to move forward, you need those who have the ability to envision something out of nothing, devise a plan to make that vision come to pass, and be willing to  work with others to see the vision happen.  Business and Residential property development is essential the economic growth of our city as well as important for supplying a tax base to support our schools and our city.  This year’s winner has such a vision and has been dedicated to bringing needed developments to our community.  Often having to work through many obstacles and having to be willing to compromises, they continue to forge ahead!  This year’s Medium Business Winner – Acadiana Constructors. Congratulations to the Couvillions and all their employees on this award!
INTERMEDIATE BUSINESS CATEGORY
Nominees: Central Buffett, Central DeAngelo’s, David's Tiger Express, Louis Mechanical, Moreau Physical Therapy, Pods, Walgreens
This Year’s winner of the intermediate business category established their business in 1960 and joined the chamber in 2005.  The very fact that this company has been in business for over 50 years speaks for itself!  However, this company and its owners don’t just stop with a track record of business; they are involved with our community in many facets.  They have been a consistent sponsor of chamber activities, have provided jobs for many of our community residents, and donate time, finances, and energy to the many other organizations in the City of Central.  The owners of this business have a passion for our city, our commerce community, ongoing economic development, and the overall wellbeing of our residents.  This year’s Intermediate Business Winner – Louis Mechanical.  Congratulations to the DeJohns and all their crew for years of successful service and this recognition!
