CHS Wins First Bowling Match of Season

By  |

Without a doubt Central High (1-0) struggled this past Monday afternoon (1-28-13) against Woodlawn (1-1), but came away with their first victory of the season, 24-3.  Due to Central’s schedule, it had been almost two weeks since they’ve bowled a competitive match and Central came out a little rusty.
Even with Central’s slow start, Central won the first game 7-1 and 896-727 in Total Pins.  The Wildcats were led by Kevin Kennedy (Junior) with a 175 and Jacob Garretson (Sophomore) with a 181.  In Game 2 the scores were a little lower for the Wildcats, but still won Game 2 easily 6-2 and 826-733 in Total Pins.  Once again, Garretson was the high Wildcat again with a 177.  The Wildcats went into Game 3 with a commanding 13-3 and up 262 in Total Pins.
In Game 3, Central put a victory in the win column by sweeping all the points 8-0 and stretched their Total Pins lead with a score of 891 to 706.  Bryan Waites (Captain/Senior) would lead the Wildcats with a 178.  With the Game 3 sweep, the Wildcats won 24-3 and 2613-2166 in Total Pins.  Overall the Wildcats were led by Garretson with a 511 series (181 game), followed by Waites’ 460 (178) and Kennedy’s 456 (175).
Central will try to go 2-0 this Wednesday (1-30-13) against Baton Rouge High (0-1) before Monday’s (2-4-13) huge District 5A match against Denham Springs (2-0), one of the favorites to win the District 5A Title.  Both matches will be at All Star Lanes at 3:20pm.
