December 2012 Building Permits

    During the month of December 2012 in the city of Central, a total of 8 new residential permits were issued.  The total valuation of these permits was $1,429,656. 
    Within these permits, three were issued in Woodstock with an average valuation of $184,976; two in Morgan Springs with an average valuation of $169,910; two in Burlington Lakes with an average valuation of $155,636; and one in Village at Magnolia Square valued at $223,634.  A total of 144 new residential home permits have been issued so far this year.  
    Residential permits for the last three years have been relatively consistent with 138 new permits in 2010, 136 new permits in 2011, and 144 new permits in 2012.  The overall average building valuation of homes in 2012 is $209,404.  
    Building valuation is the price based upon the square footage of the home used for permitting purposes.  The actual selling price of the home is usually higher than the valuation and depends upon amenities installed by the builder.
    On the commercial side,  permits were applied for the following commercial structures:
1)  Cooking in Central / Central Worship Center, 10305 Blackwater Rd; 12,000 sq. ft. pavillion
2)  Property One, 14435 Greenwell Springs Rd, Ste J; 850 sq. ft. commercial remodel
