Tuesday’s City Council Agenda: Budget & Rezoning to Be Discussed

The Central City Council will meet this Tuesday, January 8th at 6 PM at Kristenwood.  The meeting is open to the public.  The agenda is as follows:

1) Mayor’s report and presentations.
2) Introduction of the following item(s) (with public hearing to be held at the January 22, 2013, council meeting):
a)    A proposed ordinance to amend the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year General Fund Budget to appropriate additional funds for notifications and to provide for related matters.  (By Mayor Pro Tempore Washington)
3) Public Hearing and action regarding the following instrument(s):
a) A proposed ordinance to amend the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year General Fund Budget to appropriate additional funds for general legal services and to provide for related matters.  (By Councilman DeJohn)
IV. Zoning Cases
1) Introduction of the following item(s) (with Public Hearing to be held at the January 22, 2013 council meeting:

2) Discussion and action regarding the following case(s):
a)   RZ-2-12 Rezoning from R (Rural) to LC-1 (Light Commercial One District).  
This property is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Hooper Road and Sullivan Road.  Applicant:  Jonathan Starns.  (By Councilman Moak)
b)  RZ-5-12 Rezoning from LC-2 (Light Commercial Two District) to C-AB-1
     (Commerical Alcohol Beverages One District).  This property is located on the south side of Wax Road between Willowbrook Drive and Brookside Drive on Lot Y at 14790 Wax Road within Suites 101,102, 111 and portions of Suites 103 and 112. 
     The applicant requests the rezoning from Light Commercial Two to Commercial Alcoholic Beverages One for restaurants that will sell and consume alcoholic beverages.  Applicant:  Kimble Development.  (By Councilman DeJohn)
Commission Action (December 20, 2012):   A Motion to approve RZ-5-12 was made by Mr. Graydon Walker, seconded by Mr. T. J. Johnson.  Vote:  7 yeas (Messrs: Bonvillain, Burns, Giles, Johnson, Rauls, Reado, Walker), 0 nays, and the motion carried.
3)   Discussion and action regarding the following case is cancelled:
a)   RZ-4-12 Rezoning from R (Rural) to (NC) Neighborhood Commercial.  This property is located on the proposed  WC-2-A-6 of the former George Lee Chaney Cook Property near the northwest corner of the Hubbs and Denham Road intersection. The applicant requests the rezoning to build a decorative cake shop. Applicant:  Stephen LaCour.  (By Councilman DeJohn)  This is a companion case to SS-33-12 Subdivision of WC-2-A of the former George Lee Chaney Cook Property.
Commission Action (December 20, 2012):  This item was deferred by the applicant prior to the meeting.
     Application was withdrawn by applicant.
