Central, LA, December 18, 2012:  Brice Justin Harris, of Denham Springs, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012, as a result of a car accident.  He was an 18-year-old senior at Central Private School where he played baseball, football, and basketball.  He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.  He is survived by his parents, Justin & Michelle Harris, sister, Caroline Harris, grandparents, Larry & Grace Harris and Ralph & Jeanie Simpson.  He was preceded in death by his cousins, Aaron Harris and Cody Senez.  Visitation and services were held at Hebron Baptist Church in Denham Springs on December 12 & 13.
The Central Private Board of Directors, administration, faculty, staff, & student body would like to extend a gracious thank you to the members of our community for their outpouring of love in the past week.  Ministers from Zoar Baptist Church, Cornerstone Fellowship, Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, Indian Mound Baptist Church, Future Hope Ministries, and Voice of Pentecost have graciously made themselves available to our faculty and students as needed for counseling and support.  Additionally, countless churches, groups, and individuals from Central and surrounding communities continue to offer prayers and encouragement to our school family and for the Harris family at this time.
We would like extend a thank you to Denham Springs High School for dedicating their soccer game against Central High on Thursday, December 12, to Brice and for donating the proceeds from this game to the Harris family.  We appreciate the invitation for our students to attend this game.  Thank you as well to the various MAIS coaches who have been so willing to cancel or reschedule basketball and soccer games for the past two weeks.
We would like to extend a special thank you to a generous school family for their donation of over 250 memorial t-shirts for our students and faculty and to the countless other school families and community members for their monetary donations to help the Harris family with expenses.   For anyone still wishing to contribute, #FLYHIGHBRICE bracelets are available in the main office for a minimum donation of $5 each.
Please continue to pray for our school family and especially the Harris family in the coming days, weeks, and months.
